Zola awarded Player of the Month
CHELSEA striker Gianfranco Zola has scooped the Barclaycard Player of the Month Award for October.
The diminutive Italian has hit the net twice in October, and currently tops the goalscoring charts for the season with eight goals to his name.
Zola has inspired Claudio Ranieri's men to victories over Manchester City and West Brom during the month, and the 36-year-old's sparkling return to form has bagged him the gong.
"When it comes to great Barclaycard Premiership players, they don't come much better than Gianfranco Zola," said The Barclaycard Awards Panel.
"As a player he has skill, vision and an eye for goal, attributes that have made him a Stamford Bridge legend.
"At the tender age of 36 he is still turning in world class displays for his club and leads the race for the Golden Boot."
