Seagulls re-sign Aussie custodian

BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION have re-signed goalkeeper Andy Petterson to a one-month contract with the Division One strugglers.

The Australian returns to The Seagulls as cover for current number one Michel Kuipers after usual back-up Will Packham injured his foot in training last Friday.

With Packham unavailable for last Saturday's hefty defeat at Crystal Palace, Brighton boss Steve Coppell was forced to put goalkeeping coach John Keeley on the bench as Kuipers's back-up at Selhurst Park.

The former Portsmouth and Charlton Athletic shot-stopper will hopefully ease Brighton's keeper shortage over the next four weeks.

He made eight first team appearances for the South Coast club in a two-month loan spell before parting ways with the Withdean Stadium outfit earlier in October.
