Pires fears for the future
ARSENAL midfielder Robert Pires has doubts over whether he can regain his best form following a spell of seven months on the sidelines.
The 29-year-old has only just returned to Arsenal's squad following knee surgery, after damaging cruciate knee ligaments against Newcastle in an FA Cup tie last season.
Prior to the injury the Frenchman had been in irresistible form for The Gunners, however the star is concerned whether his long lay-off has hindered the remainder of his footballing career.
"I have been through the last six months like a roller coaster - hope, then despair then hope again," said Pires.
"But one question remains - will I ever be the same again?
"Other famous players like Ruud van Nistelrooy were injured and came back at the top. I just hope I do."
