Livi trial former Canary

LIVINGSTON have handed former Norwich City defender Brian McGovern a week's trial with the Scottish outfit.

The former Arsenal stopper had his contract ended by mutual consent three weeks ago, after failing to break into Nigel Worthington's first team.

Despite Livi's recent resurgence in form, scooping eight out of a possible 15 points, after losing their previous five league matches, manager Jim Leishman is still keen to strengthen his defensive options.

"We've brought Brian up for a week," said Lions first team coach Davie Hay.

McGovern began his career with Arsenal, however like his spell with The Canaries, McGovern failed to land a regular first team place, culminating in his eventual transfer away from the club.
