Rivaldo's goal relief

RIVALDO has reaffirmed that he is happy in Milan, after scoring his first home goal for the rossoneri on Sunday.

The World Cup winner has had a stuttering start to his career at the San Siro, with coach Carlo Ancelotti benching the player on occasions due to a lack of fitness.

Ancelotti had to come out and deny a rift had developed between the two, but the relationship had become strained due to frustration.

However, Rivaldo played a pivotal role in the 2-0 win over Reggina on Sunday.

Rivaldo missed a penalty but did get on the scoresheet in the win, much to the relief of the forward.

He said: "Apart from the fact that I couldn't score the penalty kick I had, I am comfortable with what I did for my team.

"Then I had the chance to score a goal and I feel happy because I am physically in good shape and I was able to play the 90 minutes.

"It was beautiful to score with Milan supporters in the stands but it's also very important to play for the team and that is what I am trying to do in each match. Sometimes it doesn't matter if I don't score.

"I am having a very good time here because this team wants to win every time it plays and that is a very good challenge for each one of us.

"We are going to give a lot of importance to both championships we are playing in because we know that the people want us to win the Scudetto and the Champions League.

"I don't know which one is more difficult because there are very good teams in both of them."

Rivaldo continued by declaring that there is more to come when he gets full fitness.

He added: "I know that I still have to work hard because my condition is not at 100 percent."
