Barca snub rivals centenary celebrations
BARCELONA president Joan Gaspart has announced that the Catalan giants have refused an invitation to be part of Real Madrid's centenary celebrations taking place in December.
He received an invitation to attend the match between Real Madrid and a World All-stars team by Madrid counterpart Florentino Perez.
Gaspart soured relations further by stopping Spanish international Carles Puyol from appearing for the All-stars team, saying: "Both Puyol and I have professional obligations on the same day."
Fifa had agreed that no other games would be played on December 18, in honour of the nine-time European cup winners' centenary year.
Gaspart stated: "I think Sant Andreu have a friendly that day."
