EVERTON 1 CHARLTON 0
The Canadian striker ignored the presence of super-kid Wayne Rooney on the bench again, to hammer a great finish past Dean Kiely, after Thomas Gravesen dispossessed Robbie Mustoe and supplied an inviting through ball.
Mustoe was very much involved in the thick of the action as he had earlier managed Charlton's two best efforts - forcing a good save out of Richard Wright, and pouncing on an error by David Unsworth but firing wastefully wide.
The ever-impressive Gravesen smashed one decent attempt over the bar, and Radzinski went close after beating Richard Rufus and Mark Fish, as Everton continued to call the shots.
Tony Hibbert was in the action at both ends, forcing a smart stop out of Kiely, and then clearing off his own line, while Kevin Lisbie could have scored with a header for The Addicks.
Scott Parker tried to inspire the visitors, and had a penalty shout waved away when he felt David Weir was tugging at his jersey, before firing off target after a purposeful run.
Rooney came off the bench but could only manage a yellow card for a late lunge, rather than a goal, on this occasion.
