Reggina release Nakamura
Reggina originally agreed to release the midfielder for the November 20 friendly in Saitama but new coach Luigi De Canio, who took charge after the sacking of Bortolo Mutti last week, tried to reverse the decision.
However, the JFA have told Reggina that Nakamura must travel to Japan for the friendly and sent a fax requesting he be allowed to play.
"We have told Reggina they are obliged to release Nakamura and we expect him to come. There is no reason for Reggina to block his release," said The JFA.
A fax from Reggina was later received and the struggling Italian side have agreed to let the 24-year-old travel to Japan.
"The officials at Reggina have responded to our request and sent a fax saying Nakamura will be allowed to go to Japan.
"We are delighted that Nakamura can play because he is a key player for the national team."
