Lineker consortium ready for Foxes bid
Consortium members met at the Walkers Stadium on Monday to hear the group's business plan, with more than £4 million already being raised so far to rescue the Division One outfit.
The consortium are confident they can reach the £5 million mark with their fundraising, which they hope will be enough to take the East Midlands club out of administration.
Former Leicester City chairman and member of the Lineker consortium Greg Clarke told the Leicester Mercury that details of their plan would hammered out over the next few days.
Clarke said: "We got half of the investors together and went through the business plan with them, which they are happy with, and we will be bidding at the end of the week.
"We will give the administrator a letter outlining what we are looking to do with the club."
The Lineker consortium had hoped to launch its rescue plan for The Foxes last week but have admitted it had taken longer than originally planned for.
The Foxes have confirmed that they will not be allowing Millwall fans to attend next month's game at the Walkers Stadium.
Leicester had initially agreed to let Lions supporters to attend the game, but after consultation with Leicestershire police they have agreed to ban the visiting support.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Tim Flowers has ended his three-month loan spell with Premiership side Manchester City.
The 35-year-old veteran had joined the Maine Road club in September as cover for their number one Peter Schmeichel and Carlo Nash.
Flowers returns to The Foxes and will likely back-up Ian Walker in goal.
His contract at the Walkers Stadium ends at the end of the season, when he will become available on a free transfer.
