Riley rescinds Davies' red card
Davies received his first yellow card in the 23rd minute for an innocuous challenge on Ashley Cole and was sent off just four minutes later for what appeared to be a genuine ball-winning tackle on Patrick Vieira.
Spurs manager Glenn Hoddle was particularly incensed by Riley's decision, especially as his team were already a goal down, as it left The White Hart Lane side with no chance of getting anything out of the Highbury clash.
The Gunners eventually ran out easy 3-0 winners against their North London rivals, but at least Hoddle will not be deprived of the services of the former Peterborough midfielder for earning an automatic three-match suspension.
However, as both yellow cards were not rescinded it means that Davies picked up his fifth booking of the season, and could miss Tottenham's upcoming trip to Birmingham on November 30.
