FA take no action over Riverside flare-up
Middlesbrough midfielder Boateng accused Barmby, a former Boro favourite, of directing racist remarks at him while Barmby claimed the Dutchman spat in his direction.
"Players have been reminded of their responsibilities," read a statement from the FA.
"There will be no further action."
The pair are thought to have clashed in the tunnel after the 2-2 draw with Barmby sporting a large cut on his cheek the morning after, claiming it was as a result of a scuffle with Boateng.
The match was an ill-tempered affair in general with Alan Smith and Franck Quedrue both given their marching orders.
