Senna happy at Villarreal

BRAZILIAN midfielder Marcos Senna is satisfied with the start to his Villarreal career but has vowed there is more to come.

Senna arrived in La Liga from Sao Caetano back in August and has made steady progress in Villarreal's first team.

He has gradually adjusted to the pace of Spanish football but believes he can improve his performances when he reaches peak physical form.

"I am happy with all that has been happening to me until now here in Spain but I must say that I still have much more to give to this team in which everyone has treated me very well since the first day," said Senna.

"I still have to get in better physical shape and I still have to give more quality to the team but I am much better now that we have played ten games in La Liga."

Senna also admitted his command of the Spanish language has developed, enabling him to become more involved in training.

He added: "Now that I have started to speak in Spanish I can understand myself much better with my team-mates and with the coach in the training sessions and that has helped me to adapt."

Villarreal are currently hovering dangerously close to the drop zone but Senna is banishing any thoughts of relegation.

"We don't have to think all the time about the position we are in and the chance of falling into the Second Division," stated Senna.

"We have to think of the next match and go step by step. That's the only way to get out from where we are."
