Injury blow for Reds starlet

FUTURE Liverpool forward Florent Sinama-Pongolle could be out until after the winter break in Le Championnat with a knee injury.

The 18-year-old Le Havre starlet injured himself in training on Wednesday and was taken straight to hospital as a precaution.

Early medical exams have found him to have slight cartilage damage although the exact nature of his injury is not yet known.

The French youth international will probably require rest now until after the mid-season break in France, when he will be looking to get back on track and firing on all cylinders.

Sinama-Pongolle, along with team-mate Anthony Le Tallec, is due to arrive at Anfield to join Liverpool next summer.

The duo where a massive hit in the World Under-17 Championship last year and have signed five-year contracts with Gerard Houllier's side.

Houllier wants them to get top-flight experience with Le Havre, and Sinama-Pongolle will be looking to get back on the pitch to impress his future boss after the winter interval.
