Injury blow for Makelele
CLAUDE MAKELELE will miss Real Madrid`s trip to Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday after picking up an injury against Barcelona on Saturday.
El Derbi was a full-blooded affair, and French international Makelele received a hefty challenge from Thiago Motta shortly after the hour.
Makelele was unable to play on, and tests have revealed significant damage to his left ankle.
Real`s medical team are forecasting a three-week period of inactivity for Makelele, which will be a big blow to the plans of coach Vicente Del Bosque.
Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane are also doubtful for the Milan clash, with a statement from the medical team reading: "We do not want to rush them back and risk causing further damage."
