Ailton slams Bremen
The Samba forward, 29, has been at loggerheads with Bremen officials a number of times this season, but has still managed to bag 12 goals and shoot the team into second.
Ailton has had a number of disputes with sporting director Klaus Allofs and encouraged another in an interview with 'Kicker' magazine.
"He sometimes opens his mouth a bit too often. Allofs should know that I score my goals for myself, my family and for the team - but not for him," declared Ailton.
The powerful attacker was dropped by by coach Thomas Schaaf for four games this season, due to a perceived lack of team effort on the pitch.
"I have proven what I'm worth," snapped Ailton, "My abilities can either be respected or not. I'm still really angry at not having played a minute of the game against Bayern Munich."
The Brazilian refused to speculate about whether he would extend his current deal at Bremen beyond 2004 but knows the significance of the next deal.
"I will start talking with Werder next summer at the earliest. My next contract will be the last one of my career and so everything has to be just right. I want a deal for two or three years," added the controversial South American.
