Viking hoping to land Egil
Viking are hoping that Norwegian target-man Ostenstad will agree to move back to his homeland should Sukur sign on at Ewood Park.
The former Southampton man had struggled to get into the starting XI with Graeme Souness's side but has recently made it into the team.
Sukur's addition to Rovers's squad could signal the end of Ostenstad's stay at Ewood Park, and Viking would be first in the queue for his signature.
With loan star Morten Berre ending his stay at the club and returning to St Pauli, Viking are looking to Ostenstad.
"We shall strengthen our team with another offensive player. But he won't necessarily need to be a striker," Viking director Bjarne Berntsen told Stavanger Aftenblad.
"It's hard to say if a Hakan Sukur move to Blackburn can strengthen our move for Ostenstad. But Blackburn will at least have enough good strikers then."
Meanwhile Morten Berre hopes that he can be released by struggling Germans St. Pauli as he wants to move on.
