Starlet signs new Villa deal
ASTON VILLA have tied down young defender Liam Ridgewell to a new four-year deal.
The England Under-20 defender has yet to make his debut for Villa, but has established himself as a member of Graham Taylor's squad.
The 18-year-old has been out on loan at Bournemouth for the past month in a bid to gain valuable first-team experience.
Ridgewell is highly-regarded within the corridors of Villa Park and he was delighted to pledge his future to the club.
"It's everything I've dreamed about since I was a young kid," Ridgewell told the club's official website. "I signed a pro contract on my 17th birthday, but that was about to expire. So it's good to secure a longer deal and get it off my mind.
"The club have invested a lot of faith in me and hopefully I can repay that by winning a place in the first team."
