Crouch staying put - Taylor
GRAHAM TAYLOR has insisted that he is not willing to loan out gangly striker Peter Crouch.
The England Under-21 international, currently sidelined with an ankle complaint, was targeted by Preston North End but Taylor sees Crouch, a £4.8 million signing from Portsmouth, as an important squad member at Villa Park.
"We have had so many requests for Peter Crouch to go out on loan, but even if he wasn't injured I wouldn't let him go. Peter will be a valuable member of Villa's team," explained Taylor.
Crouch has yet to score in The Premiership this season, with injuries severely restricting his chances, and has found it hard to establish himself in the Villa starting XI with Darius Vassell, Juan Pablo Angel, Marcus Allback and Dion Dublin providing fierce competition.
