Broken toe blow for Redknapp

TOTTENHAM midfielder Jamie Redknapp is facing a spell on the sidelines after suffering a fractured toe.

The midfielder has had a fine season, following his free transfer move from Liverpool, but his injury-jinx appears to have struck again.

Redknapp was plagued by problems during his spell at Anfield, but thankfully this latest knock is not related to his previous knee injuries.

Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle confirmed the news after the player had scans over the weekend.

Hoddle said: "Unfortunately we had a second scan done yesterday and he has a very small hairline fracture of the toe so he will probably be out for four to five weeks.

"It's a blow for Jamie but the good news, if you can call it that, is that it's not his original injury but a fresh one.

"It didn't happen in the game last week, it's something that has gradually come on. I'm sure we can get him right."
