Lazio agree deal to pay players` wages

LAZIO have revealed that all the club's players will be paid their overdue wages in full before Christmas after the Roman side announced details for a proposed cash injection had been approved.

The cash-strapped club say they are set to receive additional capital of ‚é¼80 million from their bankers to help ease their current financial crisis.

"Increasing capital has been proposed by the external financial system who are interested in helping," said club president Sergio Cragnotti.

Lazio midfielder Stefano Fiore welcomed the news that they were going to get their money.

"It's a normal thing that a person who works, hopes to receive his salary, but on the pitch we don't think of money," said Fiore. "There we think only of playing in a good way.

"We wished that a solution could be found soon, also because the situation could have become difficult, but at the same time we think only of playing football.

"Our supporters have to be patient, because we'll continue in this way till the end."
