Juve look to Riquelme
The talented playmaker's future at Camp Nou is increasingly unclear as his relationship with coach Louis van Gaal is strained.
Van Gaal has previously hinted he did not want Riquelme at the club and the South American has failed to establish himself as a regular on merit, largely being called upon when injuries arise.
Riquelme has revealed he will seek showdown talks with van Gaal when he returns from his mid-season break.
"When I'm back from my holidays, I'll talk with the coach to clarify the situation," asserted Riquelme.
Speculation in Spain and his native Argentina suggests Riquelme could leave when the transfer window reopens in January with two possible avenues to explore.
The youngster could be loaned back to Boca Juniors for six months or spend a similar period with a club in Switzerland, a move which would be facilitated by Juventus.
The Italian champions are prepared to offer Marcelo Salas in part-exchange for Riquelme with Barcelona long-term admirers of the Chilean striker.
Juventus have also been linked with Riquelme's compatriot Pablo Aimar and the Old Lady are prepared to offer Salas as bait to Valencia.
