Rovers off bottom

BRISTOL ROVERS won the Third Division basement battle as Paul Tait's first half effort proved decisive at Swansea City as Rushden & Diamonds usurped Hartlepool at the top of the table.

The Welsh outfit now prop up the table with Rovers lifting themselves out of the bottom two courtesy of Tait's 30th minute winner.

Rushden replaced Hartlepool at the head of affairs on goal difference after a 0-0 stalemate at Scunthorpe.

Hartlepool crashed to a 2-0 reverse at Hull providing The Tigers with their first win in the Kingston Communication Stadium.
