Six weeks out for Xabi
REAL SOCIEDAD`S title drive has met with a setback, with midfielder Xabi Alonso told he will be sidelined for six weeks.
The youngster, who has been in fine form as Real have stunned many with their efforts in La Liga this term, has picked up an ankle injury.
Alonso, 21, suffered ligament damage in his right ankle playing for a Basque Country selection against Macedonia on Saturday.
Scans taken by Real have highlighted damage that will take at least a month to heal.
Sociedad have the only unbeaten record in La Liga, but will be severely tested in the New Year - with champions Valencia lying in wait in January.
