Farinos delighted at Spanish move

The former Valencia midfielder decided to join the struggling La Liga outfit after failing to break into Inter's first team this season.

Despite the deal only being until the end of the season, Farinos revealed that he could well make the switch permanent after Villarreal included a clause allowing them to buy the player in the summer.

"The first objective at Villarreal is to stay up," he accepted. "But I am sure that we can move up the league.

"I am convinced that this team can achieve great things. This move is great because I wanted the chance to play first team football and I now have that.

"After being injured and then not being chosen at Inter I am very pleased to have returned home.

"This has lifted my morale completely and I hope that I can stay here for many years." Farinos is set to make his debut against Atletico Madrid on Sunday, but is taking nothing for granted.

"If the coach picks me then I hope to play in the first game against Atletico," he added.

"When I play I promise that I will give everything I have to the team. I want to play in every game after missing so much of the season."

If he impresses at El Madrigal then Villarreal could well stump up the £6 million asking price demanded by Inter.
