Keane's injury scare
Keane was substituted at half-time in the third round meeting with the First Division pace-setters and faces a nervous wait to discover the extent of the damage.
The Irishman was instrumental in United dominating the opening period against Pompey and The Red Devils looked rudderless for much of the second half in his absence.
Though United eventually ran out 4-1 victors, manager Sir Alex Ferguson admitted the team missed Keane's influence.
Ferguson confirmed Keane was replaced because of a hamstring injury and is sweating on an assessment of the problem.
"We missed Roy's drive in the second half," said Ferguson.
"He came off with a hamstring strain but we will have to assess it in the morning before we know what the damage is."
Keane has only just returned to action after spending four months on the sidelines after undergoing a hip operation and United will be hopeful his latest injury is not serious.
