Bolton are in for Bosnich - agent

MARK BOSNICH'S agent Jeff Weston has insisted to an Australian paper that Bolton Wanderers have made enquiries over his charge - despite vehement denials by the club.

The disgraced goalkeeper tested positive for cocaine, and has been given notice by his club Chelsea.

A link to Bolton surfaced, but was rejected by manager Sam Allardyce on the club's official website.

But agent Jeff Weston - who along with Jeroma Anderson represents the player - told The Australian that enquiries had been made.

"We can't act on it [the Bolton enquiry] until the drug hearing has been finalised," said Weston.

Bosnich is currently undergoing treatment for depression at The Priory clinic in London.

"He remains under the care of a psychologist for severe clinical depression," confirmed Weston.

Bosnich has been publicly backed by Australian assistant coach Graham Arnold, who is still mystified by the allegations of drug abuse.

"Mark doesn't drink wine or beer during the season and the thought of him taking drugs is so totally out of character.

"To an outsider life being a professional footballer looks glamorous, but you have no friends in the game and it can be very lonely."
