Marazzina to quit Chievo

CHIEVO striker Massimo Marazzina has revealed his decision to quit the club as soon as possible after his bust-up with coach Luigi Del Neri.

Marazzina has been dropped from the squad to face Milan in the Coppa Italia this week, after a row with his coach in the dressing room following the 1-0 win against Roma on Sunday.

The forward has been dropped to the bench in recent weeks, but provided the telling pass for Federico Cossatto's winner against Roma after coming on for the last half hour of the game.

The row occurred in the dressing room after the game with Marazzina saying: "I had just won the award for man of the match against Roma.

"He came to congratulate me but I did not acknowledge him right away and, a second later, Del Neri was shouting and screaming at me.

"He told me that I wouldn't be playing next Sunday and then he announced to the whole dressing room that I was suspended.

"He can't treat me this way."

The former Reggina front-man has since had his name touted around to other Serie A clubs, most notably Internazionale, the club he supported as a child and he confirmed his days at Chievo were numbered.

"It's true I was an Inter fan, but I don't want people to think that what happened on Sunday was a premeditated move to get away from the club, that just isn't so.

"But it's clear that I consider all my feelings for Chievo closed.

"I'm sorry that things have come to this but Del Neri didn't leave me much choice with his behaviour."
