Kahn the best - official
Kahn, arguably the best keeper in the world, collected 316 points from a select committee from 92 countries, easily beating off Real Madrid's Iker Casillas (101) points and Fenerbahce shot-stopper Rustu Recber (99).
The 33-year-old German international captain dragged his country almost single-handedly into the final of the World Cup in Japan and South Korea, but was powerless to thwart Ronaldo and company, with Germany eventually losing 2-0 to the South Americans.
Kahn joins an elite list of goalkeepers to be crowned with the award for a third time, joining legendary Italian Walter Zenga and eccentric Paraguayan Jose Luis Chilavert as the only men in history to be awarded by the IFFHS on three seperate occasions.
