Rivaldo: Milan can win the Scudetto

RIVALDO believes that his club Milan are capable of winning this season's Scudetto, despite the current title challenges of arch-rivals Inter, Juventus, Lazio and Chievo.

The Brazilian World Cup winner is confident that the Rossoneri have the quality to win the Serie A title, after joining the San Siro outfit in the summer from Spanish giants Barcelona.

The former Corinthians, Palmeiras and Deportivo La Coruna midfielder knows that the Scudetto race will be a tough one this term, but sees his side prevailing as champions of Italy at the end of the season.

Rivaldo said: "The Italian championship is undoubtedly difficult, but until now Milan have been able to stay at the top of the standings.

"We know there are strong opponents, but our aim is to win the title.

"Juventus, Inter and Lazio are very competitive teams, and it's difficult affirming who will be able to struggle along until the end, but all these teams and Milan have the capabilities of being in first place at the end of the season."

The South American ace added that Serie A has yet to see the best of him, having only recently recovered from a thigh injury.

He added: "People haven't seen the real Rivaldo - the one who played with Barcelona or in the World Cup, but slowly I'm improving match by match.

"Sunday against Piacenza will be important to win because we are playing at home.

"Inter are together with us (in the table) - and the match I remember with the greatest pleasure is really the derby."
