Mariners linked with Woodhouse move

GRIMSBY TOWN have been linked with a loan move for Birmingham City midfielder Curtis Woodhouse.

Mariners player-manager Paul Groves is said to be keen to bring in the former England Under-21 international to Blundell Park before Saturday's Division One clash with Bradford City.

Fellow Division One sides Brighton & Hove Albion and Rotherham United are just two of several clubs reported to be tracking the 22-year-old, with Millers manager Ronnie Moore seemingly prepared to make a move for the midfielder himself.

Grimsby are currently short on first team midfield players - with Stacy Coldicott, Alan Pouton and Georges Santos all out through injury.

Meanwhile, Grimsby were given a boost early last week when goalkeeper Steve Croudson was told that his injured shoulder would not need a second operation by a leading specialist.

The news means that Croudson could be fit for selection in less than a month's time.
