Gulls to let Douglin leave

TORQUAY UNITED have told young defender Troy Douglin that he will not be offered a new contract come the end of the season.

The 20-year-old's current deal with The Gulls expires at the end of the season and he has taken a break to decide whether to stay at Plainmoor until his contract ends or move on before then.

The Coventry-born ace joined Torquay as a youth trainee and has made 19 first team appearances during his time at the club.

He also spent a four-month trial with Scottish champions Celtic back in 2001.
