Tayfun hoping for national recall
REAL SOCIEDAD midfielder Tayfun Korkut has admitted he is hoping for another chance to earn a place in Senol Gunes's Turkish national squad.
Tayfun is back in form for his Spanish side, having netted a goal in last weekend's clash against Atletico Madrid and helping the side to first place in La Liga.
"I want to wear my national team uniform again," admitted Tayfun. "I have worked hard. So I'm waiting for my form I had that I lost before the World Cup."
The Turk also admitted he was angry that he failed to make the squad for last summer's prestigious tournament in Japan and Korea.
"I cannot forget the days before the World Cup. Maybe I was given the wrong explanation, because I was very angry," added Tayfun.
"But the national team is important for me. I hope Gunes can give me a chance. I think I deserve that chance."
