Bayern eye Recber
'Genghis Kahn' is thought to be a target of Italian giants Milan, and Bayern have identified World Cup star Recber as his successor.
Recber is out of contract in the summer and will be one of the most attractive Bosman transfers, with Arsenal and Manchester United two sides monitoring the custodian.
Bundesliga leaders Bayern have a lot of talented goalkeepers coming through the ranks and have allowed Stefan Wessels to join FC Cologne in the knowledge that teenager Michael Rensing is waiting in the wings.
The German U-19 international, 18, is rated very highly within the corridors of the Olympic Stadium.
"Michael has it all. He has outstanding reflexes, is strong in the air and is good with the ball. In his current form I'd have no worries to see him playing in the Bundesliga. Michael could well succeed Oliver Kahn," declared Germany's U-19 coach Horst Hrubesch.
