Lazio not selling Stam or Stankovic

LAZIO have insisted that they will not be selling Jaap Stam or Dejan Stankovic over the next couple of days.

The Roman club's financial status has meant that many of their players are being linked with moves away from the the Eternal City.

However, sports director Oreste Cinquini insists that the sales are at an end.

"Lazio won't sell anyone else - even Stam," insisted Cinquini.

"You say that Milan and Juventus want him, but the truth is that we won't open any negotiation.

"We have not had any contact with Juve, despite the paper talk, and we have not had any contact from any other clubs.

"We have no intention of selling Stam or Stankovic in this session of the transfer market."

Despite the comments, it is still likely that players will be leaving Stadio Olimpico, and Cinquini confirmed that the club are inviting offers for Fabio Liverani and Dino Baggio.

"These players are on the market, but we have yet to receive a bid," stated Cinquini.

"We did enquire into Martin Jorgensen, but were told immediately by Udinese that they have no interest in selling him."
