Argentina not crying for Camoranesi

ARGENTINA manager Marcelo Bielsa gave a lending hand to old pal Giovanni Trapattoni by waving his right to call up Mauro German Camoranesi.

The Juventus star holds Argentinean and Italian passports and Biesla has passed up the chance to call-up Camoranesi, leaving the Italian national coach free to invite him into the Azzurri squad to face Holland in a friendly on February 12.

Biesla will instead take the chance to look at other Argentinian stars plying their trade in Serie A.

The South American boss had hinted that he would do Trapattoni a favour and not consider Camoranesi for his squad, with the player yet to pledge his allegiance to either side.

However, the reluctance of Bielsa to include the attacking midfielder in his squad doe suggest that the Juve star will turn his back on his country of birth.
