Owen's Carlisle trial on hold

OWEN MORRISON'S proposed trial with Carlisle United from Sheffield Wednesday has been put on hold due to a family illness.

The Derry-born striker had been set to join The Cumbrians this week, but it is now unclear when he will arrive at Brunton Park.

Morrison has made just one start and substitute appearance for The Owls this season and is well down Chris Turner's pecking order.

The Northern Ireland star, who has been capped at Under-21 level, had made 54 appearances from 2000-2002, however the hit-man is now surplus to requirements at Hillsborough.
