Denilson agrees Betis extension
BRAZILIAN winger Denilson has signed a two-year extension to his existing Real Betis deal, meaning he is now tied to the Primera club until June 2010.
The new deal maintains the star's staggering release fee of some £250 million.
The 25-year-old joined the Seville-based outfit in the summer of 1999 for a then world record fee of £22 million.
According to the player's agent, Antonio Barrera, negotiations on the extension were lengthy, although he insisted his client never had any desire to leave the club.
Denilson has been one of Betis' most consistent performers this term, and has been a key figure in the club's excellent league form which currently sees them sitting fourth in La Liga.
