Miccoli`s double celebration

FABRIZIO MICCOLI celebrated his Italian call-up with a goal that allowed Perugia to obtain maximum points over Milan, allowing their bitter rivals Internazionale to go top of the league.

The striker is on loan from Ternana and has rattled six goals in 20 appearances for the Stadio Renato Curi side this term, prompting national coach Giovanni Trapattoni to select him for his squad to face Portugal in a friendly on Wednesday.

Miccoli said after his strike beat the Rossoneri: "I'm happy with my call-up to the national squad and pleased with my goal against Milan.

"But the merit should all go to my team and my coach Serse Cosmi that help me to show all my capabilities.

"Now we must continue in this way."

Beaten Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti said after the game: "We had a couple of chances to score and we've been punished by their only real chance and now we must react in a positive manner after this result."
