Farina still confident over Kewell

AUSTRALIA coach Frank Farina is confident Harry Kewell will be fit to face England, despite missing Leeds` win over West Ham at the weekend.

Leeds boss Terry Venables said Kewell would take no part in the Upton Park friendly if he failed to shake off a hamstring complaint.

Kewell was deemed not fit enough to face The Hammers, but Farina is still confident the forward will play on Wednesday.

"I'm expecting him in camp and it's as simple as that," said Farina.

"I've heard nothing at this stage that he won't be playing. He's coming into camp and as far as I'm concerned he's okay. Harry's confident he's okay."

Farina added, though, that he will not risk players if they are not 100 percent.

He continued: "It's not in our interests or anyone's interests to play anyone who isn't fully fit, we've got long term interests of our own as well.

"I'm just hoping everyone will be right when we get into camp. I haven't heard anything from anyone yet, so that's a good sign."
