Rame blunder helps sink Bleus

FRANCE slipped to a shock 2-0 defeat to the visiting Czech Republic - in a match that saw Les Bleus fail to shine.

Ulrich Rame had been the subject of glowing praise in the build-up to the game, as he came in following the absence of Fabien Barthez and Gregory Coupet.

However Rame made a shocking blunder for the opener in which he seemed to lose the flight of Zdenek Grygera`s tepid shot, and the shocked crowd watched as the ball hit the back of the net.

Even the likes of Zinedine Zidane and Thierry Henry could not lift France as they searched in vain for a leveller.

Indeed, it was the Czech side that finally added to the goal tally - when Liverpool's young star Milan Baros scored the second for his nation.
