Marazzina in line for Roma debut

ROMA hope latest recruit Massimo Marazzina will make his debut for the club as they lock horns against Brescia on Sunday.

The Roman club signed the Italian international with just minutes to spare before the January transfer deadline from Chievo and the player hopes to give the Stadio Olimpico fans a sight of what is to come.

"I'm not sure if I'll play, but when I do I will be full of emotion," said Marazzina.

Marazzina was brought into replace the departed Argentine legend Gabriel Batistuta and the striker knows he faces tough competition for places.

"I don't hide the fact that I came here to play," said Marazzina.

"Now I hope to recover my full physical condition as I was carrying an injury when I was at Chievo."

Marazzina also had words of praise for his former Flying Donkeys team-mate Bernado Corradi, who scored the Azzurri winner against Portugal on Wednesday night.

"It was beautiful seeing him playing and scoring," added Marazzina.

"He deserved this because he's a good guy and I'll call him soon to give him my congratulations."
