Emerton still eyes England

FEYENOORD'S Australian midfielder Brett Emerton hopes his performance against England will finally secure him a dream move to The Premiership.

Emerton has repeatedly been linked with a switch across the North Sea with Leeds United, Liverpool and Newcastle United all keen.

The energetic midfield man has thus far been unable to finalise a transfer to England despite the healthy interest from these shores.

Emerton was disappointed not to clinch a move during January's transfer window, after being mooted with a renewed move to Liverpool.

But after scoring the SocceRoos' third goal in the comfortable friendly success against England last Wednesday, Emerton hopes his display will have revived his prospects of leaving De Kuip.

"I was really upset about that because I am desperate to play in The Premiership," said Emerton.

"It's a dream I've had since I was a kid and I hope what I did against England will help to make it come true."
