United quiet on Becks boot incident
The alleged incident reportedly occurred after Saturday's tame FA Cup exit against Premiership champions Arsenal.
Red Devils chief Ferguson was furious with his team's limp display against the holders and vented his displeasure in the dressing room after the 2-0 defeat.
During his outburst, Ferguson reacted by kicking a boot across the room which then hit England captain Beckham on the head, according to The Sun.
Beckham required two stitches in the wound, although the injury was caused accidentally by Ferguson.
Midfield star Beckham had been substituted during the game through injury and his mood was not enhanced by the dressing room incident as he left Old Trafford well before his team-mates.
Though Ferguson did not intend to hit Beckham, the pair will be anxious to resolve any differences ahead of Wednesday's Champions League encounter with Juventus.
A United spokesman refused to deny the incident had taken place, saying only: "Whatever happens in the dressing room remains private."
Beckham was photographed on Monday morning with stitches above his eye when he arrived for training.
