Kennedy to re-visit specialist

WOLVES winger Mark Kennedy is set to re-visit a specialist as he looks to overcome a persistent hamstring problem.

The Republic of Ireland international, who did not play in his country's 2-0 victory in Scotland on Wednesday, will again visit German doctor Hans Muller Wolfhart in around three weeks' time.

Wolfhart has treated the Liverpool duo of Michael Owen and Steven Gerrard, as well as Tottenham midfielder Darren Anderton in his time.

Kennedy previously received treatment from Wolfhart for a groin injury and will hope the specialist can find a solution to his current hamstring problem.

The 26-year-old, who put in a man-of-the-match performance for Wolves on Sunday evening as they knocked Division Three side Rochdale out of the FA Cup, may be forced to miss some matches as the club push towards promotion.

Wolves boss Dave Jones told Sky Sports: "At the moment, we have got a slight concern over Mark Kennedy because we are wrapping him up in cotton wool because of the workload coming up that may put a strain on the injury.

"We might have to think about resting Kennedy from certain games.

"It's not something that I want to do - but I might have to do that even though he could come in and feel fine.

"I might have to protect him until there is a window available in the fixtures to be able to do something about it."
