City let Loran leave

MANCHESTER CITY have decided to release Tyrone Loran, meaning the Dutch defender will not return to Maine Road when his loan deal with Tranmere expires.

Citizens boss Kevin Keegan brought the youngster over from Volendam last summer, but he failed to make an impact on the first-team picture.

The 21-year-old could not force his way into the reserves on a regular basis, prompting Keegan to send him on loan to Tranmere.

The Wirralside outfit will keep the player until the end of the season, at which point Loran will become a free agent.

Keegan said: "Tyrone has gone now. We loaned him out to Tranmere until the end of the season when his contract with us expires.

"We had to make a decision on Tyrone before Christmas. Sadly we didn't think that he had improved that much.

"He has a great attitude but when you look at what we have got in that position you can see the strength which we have."

It is not yet clear whether Loran will try and pursue a career in England or return to Holland.
