Eagles offer duo new deals

CRYSTAL PALACE chairman Simon Jordan has confirmed that the First Division club have acted in a bid to prevent Julian Gray and Tommy Black leaving under the Bosman Ruling in the summer.

Both FA Cup hero Gray (pictured) and ex-Arsenal attacker Black are out of contract at the end of the season, and Jordan has offered the pair new deals that are related to whether the Londoners gain promotion or remain in the Nationwide League.

"They have been offered new contracts because I consider it the right time to be protecting two of our brightest assets," stated the Palace supremo.

"I've offered them contracts the club can afford, I've offered them an increase on their current salaries, and I've also offered them security.

"If we are a First Division club they get paid First Division wages, if we are a Premiership club they get paid Premiership wages."

Gray has been linked with a move to the top division after plundering spectacular goals against both Liverpool and Leeds United during The Eagles' cup run, while Black has enjoyed an impressive campaign since being converted into a more attacking role.
