Pead extends Coventry stay

COVENTRY CITY midfielder Craig Pead has signed a new contract with the Sky Blues that will keep him at Highfield Road until 2005.

The 21-year-old would have been out of contract this summer, but has now agreed terms with the First Division outfit.

Pead has made a total of 12 appearances for Gary McAllister's men this term, and has been a virtual ever-present since coming into the first-team for a league clash with Derby in December.

Meanwhile, trialist Michael Briscoe looks set to get a run-out for the Sky Blues second-string on Tuesday.

The 19-year-old centre back will be given the chance to impress in a reserve outing against Charlton, having arrived at the club from a Northamptonshire league team.
