Mancini unhappy with slender victory

LAZIO boss Roberto Mancini was not completely satisfied with his side's performance in the Uefa Cup home tie against Besiktas, despite picking up a 1-0 first leg victory.

Mancini bemoaned his players' profligacy in front of goal, and feels Lazio should be in a more comfortable position going into the second leg.

"We cannot keep creating ten great goalscoring opportunities and score only one of them," complained Mancini, who completed a brief spell on loan at Leicester City two seasons ago.

Lazio were given a slender victory thanks to a well taken goal by Simone Inzaghi, but Mancini feels his side cannot afford to go for the draw, in what will be a testing second leg.

"In the second half, Simone Inzaghi luckily gave us a one-goal advantage, but now we'll have to go to Istanbul with the aim to win."
