Berg back to his best

BLACKBURN ROVERS' Norwegian defender Henning Berg is confident he has returned to the same level he was playing at before being sidelined with injury.

Berg missed over three months of the campaign with an Achilles tendon problem before making his comeback at the start of February.

Since the veteran stopper was restored to the heart of the Rovers rearguard, Blackburn have won four straight games in The Premiership.

The sequence was extended with an excellent 2-0 success over champions Arsenal and Berg is happy he is back to his best.

"I'm really pleased to manage to play at the same level now as before the injury," Berg told VG.

"After I came back, it has gone well both for the team and in relation to the injury. It was fun today (Saturday) but, of course, other players played well too."

Berg was delighted to play his part in shutting out The Gunners - only the second occasion the table-toppers had failed to score in 69 Premiership matches.

He added: "I'm pleased with my own effort.

"When you play against Arsenal, who have that many good players, you have to keep a clean sheet to win and we managed that."
