Depor boss fancies English win

DEPORTIVO LA CORUNA coach Javier Irureta has lamented his side's exit from the Champions League, and admitted Manchester United could go on the lift the trophy at their Old Trafford home in May.

The Depor boss feels either United, who were beaten 2-0 at La Riazor, Real Madrid or Arsenal will prove victorious in Europe's most prestigious competition.

Real squeezed through the group stages on Tuesday, while Arsenal must avoid defeat against Valencia in order to clinch their place in the quarter finals.

"We went out only on goal difference, for which he must go with our heads held high," stated Irureta.

"I lament the last minute of our game in Turin (against Juventus).

"I have not thought about next Sunday for nothing (when Real Madrid provide the opposition in La Liga), but I enjoyed seeing the team tonight.

"The game was quite open, without having the pressure of the points, the football played was good enough, and the fans were happy.

"Dani Mallo has done very well, although he did not have a great deal of work to do, saving two shots that arrived in the second half."

Irureta will now watch the remainder of the Champions League pan out as intently as any other supporter, but he feels there is a good chance of an English team emerging victorious at Old Trafford.
